The Insecurities Made Me Do It

Hi Folks,

Well, this is awkward. What do we do here?

Introductions are in order I imagine. Yes, let's start there.

My name is Sam Wilder [not really but it's close enough]. I have been an amateur stand up comedian since 2008/2009 with varying degrees of success. The last year has been something of a hiatus for me though. I intend to get back into performing but I have cold feet and need to push myself into doing this again.

That's where this account comes in. I'm starting to make videos for Youtube. As I'm currently writing this I have just finished the first batch of recordings. The videos are about gaming [at the moment, but nothing is set in stone] whereas my stand up acts are based on politics, current events and surreal musings.

I have started this blog (oh how I hate that term) as part of a wider attempt to make me write a bit every few days. Like most other people with no definitive talent I am trying to make a go of being generally creative and wordy (I think the term is writer). Whether it will work or not depends on how pessimistic you are, I personally think it will last for a week, though I hope to prove myself wrong.

On a quick side note; I am dyslexic. The sound you just heard was the majority of people leaving this page and never coming back. Which is OK, this blog is more for me getting better at writing than anyone else and will hopefully help me in that department as well.

Consider this a public diary, just without all the juicy bits you read a diary for. It's like a nun's diary.
